A PhD in chemistry is required.
Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Georgia is seeking applications for a, full-time, non-tenure track, Lecturer position to begin August 1, 2024. The position will primarily focus on general chemistry instruction. Instructional duties will include teaching three lecture classes including recitation sessions, holding office hours for students, and performing the other normal duties associated with teaching. Lecturers are expected to engage in relevant service activities within the Department, School, and University. These positions are renewable 10-month appointments with the ability to work toward promotion to a Senior Lecturer and include the possibility of a summer appointment and stipend based on program needs.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
Candidates with at least one year of teaching experience at the college level will be given priority.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Competitive applicants will demonstrate the ability to teach in both large and small classes utilizing active learning pedagogy and demonstrate the ability to utilize technology in teaching and/or implementing online courses. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
