Technical Training Specialist

Department: Customer Services - Training

Direct Report: Detailing and Fabrication Training Manager

Tekla Software for the detailing and fabrication industry is produced by Trimble, a technology company with the vision of transforming the way the world works. Tekla products are used for creating and maintaining accurate BIM Models for the detailing industry and producing paperless workflows for fabrication shops around the world.

The Technical Training Specialist offers in-depth training of Tekla's detailing and fabrication software. In this role you will assist new or existing clients with training needs and questions such as new client installation on server or local system set-up, networking, typical interoperability between products, and product-specific questions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Represent the company values to our clients

  • Address primary issues of Technical training for Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, Tekla EPM Go, and Trimble Connect including:

    • Mid-Level training of products that require a more in-depth knowledge of the software

    • Provide technical training via:

      • Onsite Training (no more than 2 weeks per month)

      • Virtual Classroom Training, Webinars and Customized Trainings

      • Direct email and phone communication within our CSM software

      • Remote Methods such as TeamViewer, ReadyTech, GotoMeeting, and Google Hangouts

    • Create and update materials for classroom trainings, eLearning courses, and the Tekla User Assistance Site

    • Provide client support by actively working in the training queue when not in training or working on training documentation

  • Provide solutions through the usage of support systems such as:

  • Advanced Find Searches within CRM reviewing past cases

  • Tekla User Assistance

  • Training documentation

  • Resource Teams via Google Chat



Require Skills & Experience
  • 2 to 4 years of experience using Tekla PowerFab
  • Understanding of detailing and fabrication processes using software
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Presentation experience to medium and small groups, both remote and in-person
  • Ability to educate a variety of roles and parties involved in the project (IT, Operations, Users)
  • Self-Motivated, innovative, and influential
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication skills which transcend language and cultural barriers
  • Ability to make effective, timely decisions
