Clinical Instructor / Clinical Assistant Professor of Exercise Science (Log #25-004)

The Department of Kinesiology and Health in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor in Exercise Science to begin in the Fall of 2024.  This is a full-time academic year position. Candidates specializing in exercise sciences, kinesiology, or human performance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
  • Earned Ph.D. (for Clinical Assistant Professor) or a master’s degree (for Clinical Instructor) in Exercise Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start of the position.
  • Teaching experience in Exercise Science or related areas (college-level experience preferred)
  • ACSM (Exercise Physiologist or equivalent) or NSCA (CSCS) certification
  • Commitment to developing future exercise science professionals.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in strength training, fitness assessment, exercise prescription, anatomy and physiology course with associated labs, and other related areas in the Exercise Science Undergraduate Program. Clinical Assistant Professor will have opportunity to teach graduate courses in the Exercise Science Graduate Program.
    • 4-4 teaching load
    • Opportunity to teach summer courses may be available on an annual basis.
  • Prepare undergraduate students for certification exams.
  • Advise undergraduate students on course selection and supervise student internships.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, and professions.
