Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Excellence, this position will play a key role in driving Altium's growth agenda by applying critical and economic thinking to a variety of business problems.

  • Build scalable and repeatable processes to identify and act on pricing opportunities and/or risk based on customer and product profitability, operational performance, competitive landscape, industry trends, etc.

  • Analyze, track, and forecast commercial performance (e.g., pipeline health, award performance, volume, Material Margin, at risk customers, etc.). Report findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Develop and present business cases for investments in new capacity, capabilities, and innovations (including supporting financial models)

  • Perform commercial due diligence for M&A targets, and assist in post-acquisition integration

  • Develop and implement pricing Point of View for various end-markets, innovations, and products

  • Partner with commercial team to maximize the lifetime value of commercial negotiations through value-for-value trades

  • Create models/frameworks to evaluate theoretical lifetime value of customers, end use segments, and products

  • Manage annual and long-term strategic planning processes for commercial organization

  • Prepare materials for board meetings and internal business reviews

  • Effectively communicate Altium's value proposition in customer proposals and presentations

  • Perform other ad hoc analysis in support of commercial organization

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate must have excellent analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable working in a detail oriented, highly autonomous environment. The candidate must be able to:

  • Develop complex financial models following best practices for flexibility, consistency, and transparency

  • Synthesize disparate datasets into cohesive analysis, ultimately leading to profitable action

  • Take a systematic approach to addressing amorphous, cross-functional problem statements

  • Communicate analysis and recommendations to senior executives and customers through a variety of mediums (e.g., verbal, written, PowerPoint) in a highly professional style

  • Work cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization

  • Use good judgment, critical/economic thinking, and initiative to solve complex business problems

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in analytical field (Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, etc.)

  • 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, Investment Banking or related fields

  • Experience in B2B manufacturing a plus (but not required)
