The Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB, https://research.gatech.edu/bio) is located in Georgia Tech's thriving Biotechnology Complex was launched in 1995. IBB serves to catalyze new research and education initiatives at the interface of bioengineering and bioscience and integrate the broad range of bio-related activities throughout Georgia Tech and its partner institutions.

Job Summary

Provide professional services in support of unit management in field as specified in the particular job posting (grant and research administration). Focus will be in a professional field such as Communications, Marketing, Customer Service, Academic Administration, Event Management, Procurement, etc. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit management and staff. This position will supervise: NA

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Perform duties related to professional field assignment.

Job Duty 2 -
Participate in reviews for compliance with policy and governmental regulations in the field.

Job Duty 3 -
Provide input to department policies and procedures.

Job Duty 4 -
May provide input to and administer project timelines and budgets.

Job Duty 5 -
May interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
This job will require some evening and weekend hours depending on grant and research deadlines.

Required Experience
Up to two years of job related experience

Required Qualifications
  • Experience with preparing National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) proposals.
  • Experience with Cayuse and Grants.gov.
  • Experience with reviewing pre-proposal documents (ex. NIH Biosketch) to make sure the documents are compliant per solicitation guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires application of professional principles, processes and practices; application of regulations; utilization of basic and advanced computer applications including those specific to areas of responsibility; communication skills.

Other Information

* Salary range: up to $34.00 per hour depending on experience level.

* Part-time: 20 to 35 hours per week depending on responsibilities assigned and deadlines (ex. grant submissions).

* This role is primarily dependent on sponsored research. All employment and assignments are ultimately contingent upon funding.

* This is a hybrid position and requires some onsite presence on Georgia Tech's Atlanta campus depending on responsibilities assigned and deadlines (ex. grant submissions).

* Pre-employment process may include skills assessments and testing.
