Your Job

The Process Optimization Leader - Boilers will serve as an internal consultant and subject matter expert to operations site leadership to increase productivity and cost-effective operation of steam, condensate, and auxiliary boiler assets within our network of corrugated production facilities. This role will utilize operating data and system knowledge to identify trends and mitigation strategies, support development of continuous improvement efforts, and support development of site resources who can continue driving efforts to improve operational efficiency of these critical systems.

This position is a home-based role but will require up to 75% travel to support thirty-three (33) corrugated manufacturing facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to assist plants with steam and condensate process center lining and optimization.
  • Collaborate with the plant sites daily, providing insights on trends and or alerts that need to be investigated and or acted upon.
  • Develop automated notifications/alerts real time based on data analytics/AI to maintain and improve asset performance.
  • Assisting the facilities with improving their competitive position through improved efficiency/cost reductions as defined by recovery, yield, productivity, and reliability.
  • Serve as a mentor for Operations site Leadership to increase asset manufacturing processing knowledge and develop bench strength over time at each facility.
  • Support the development and implementation of best equipment operating practices and standards for package boilers (Fire tube and Water tube), water treatment systems, Deaerators, High Pressure Condensate Receivers, and compressed air systems.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Ten (10) or more years of boiler experience
  • Five (5) or more years of technical leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using data analytics to drive process improvement efforts
  • Experience developing and mentoring leaders in manufacturing best practices


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • Experience with data management and software tools (ie PI, Ignition, SAS, MatLab, etc.)
  • Experience applying Lean Six Sigma and Process Engineering methodologies (DMAIC, 5S, value-stream mapping, etc.)
