Job Description
Overview

Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia (a part of the US Oncology network) has an opening for a self-motivated Medical Physicist to operate out of our Snellville Georgia location. We are seeking a candidate who holds a Master's or PhD in medical physics with board certification in therapeutic radiological physics. We will also consider exceptional candidates who are not board certified but have completed ABR part 2. All candidates under consideration should be able to get on a HDR RAM license in the state of Georgia.

The successful candidate will join a tightly knit group of six physicists. You'll be working closely with an excellent team of physicians, dosimetrists, therapists, administrators and support staff, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. We are comprised of five radiation oncology centers located throughout the state of Georgia - four in the Atlanta metro. The Snellville site has one Varian True Beam, Align RT, Varian Gammamed HDR afterloader and a GE Lightspeed CT. All sites in the practice use Aria (v16). For treatment planning, all sites use Eclipse AAA(v16.1). We have a full array of QA systems and tools including a IBA Blue Phantom II, Mapchecks, Daily QA3s, IC Profilers and Mobius 3D and Clearcheck for second checks. We use Mobius FX for IMRT/VMAT QA.

The site provides HDR, SBRT and SRS therapies and the practice also has one of the largest prostate seed implant programs in the southeast. Seed implants are not done on site and so the candidate will be expected to participate in prostate seed implants at the neighboring hospital.

The Snellville site has one physician, one dosimetrist, two therapists and one nurse. All physicists in the practice provide cross coverage to another center as needed depending on the special procedure load, vacations or PTO of another team member.

Atlanta is one of the nation's fastest growing metro areas. The city features award-winning restaurants, iconic locales that rival any across the country - including the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre, the CNN Center and the Western hemisphere's largest indoor aquarium. The city also hosts numerous festivals and sporting events. Whatever your interests and hobbies are there is something here for everyone.

Applicants will be hired into the title appropriate to their credentials and years of experience.
