About the College/Unit/Department
Part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants and 565 undergraduate student workers. As a self-supporting auxiliary, University Housing operates a $59 million budget derived only from student housing fees and other non-state sources.

Position Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, supervision, and management of the Greek Park and serves as the contact person for all Greek Park related issues. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating facility management services for the Greek Park as well as coordination of educational programs and processes related to fire and life safety for all on-campus fraternities and sororities.

The Coordinator will visit/be on-site in the Greek Park facilities on a regular basis and be able to respond to after-hours issues in a reasonable amount of time. This position also involves weekend and evening work and reports to the Director for Greek Life.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Experience in facilities management. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and national organizations. Experience in writing, speaking, and working with students individually and in groups.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively in person and/or utilizing technology.
Be able to respond to routine and crisis situations as they arise.

Physical Demands

Function effectively in a normal office environment, including sit at a desk with computer use and lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Move throughout multi-unit housing facility, visually inspect for compliance to maintenance and safety standards.

1. Direct and participate in the recruitment, selection, training, supervision and evaluation of four Greek Park house directors. Recruitment and selection efforts should be in collaboration with the chapter of each individual house.
2. Work with the resident house directors for the Sigma Delta Tau, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Pi and Kappa Sigma facilities as needed.
3. Develop and update any materials needed for operation of Greek houses including, but not limited to house director policies and procedures manual.

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Assist with educational programming for fraternities and sororities related to facility management and risk management, as needed.
2. Provide leadership for the promotion of learning and the development of support services, programs, and resources in areas such as risk management issues, officer training, chapter management and development, membership recruitment, new member orientation and education, sexual responsibility, and diversity as needed.
3. Serve as a University liaison with chapter advisors, house corporations, local alumni, and national organizations.
4. Conduct house corporation meetings for fraternities and sororities as directed.
5. Work cooperatively with the Greek Life staff and student leaders in the Interfraternity Council, the Multicultural Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Council in the coordination of initiatives, programs, and events for the continual development of a Greek community which encourages interaction among all Greeks and emphasizes the common Greek experience

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Coordinate all Greek Park house opening and closing activities and summer use requests.
2. Serve as the primary liaison to University Housing facility staff members and communicate maintenance, custodial and security issues with the appropriate staff in order to ensure that services meet
departmental standards. Attend housing staff meetings as necessary.
3. Design and implement training activities on facility-related items for staff and students.
4. Communicate after hours emergency maintenance concerns to appropriate University Housing facilities staff member.
5. Coordinate required safety and security activities including, but not limited to, conducting fire drills and monitoring life safety equipment.
6. Assist in identifying and developing immediate and future plans for facility maintenance and improvements as authorized by University personnel.
7. Maintain billing records for on-campus Greek houses and submit any charges, such as rent, parlor fees, utilities, maintenance repairs and damages to the appropriate individuals.
8. Respond through personal contact with students, parents, chapters, national organizations, administrators and other stakeholders to resolve facility-related problems, answer questions and clarify policies and procedures.
9. Be knowledgeable of and prepared to implement emergency response and other life safety protocols as outlined by University Housing.
10. Coordinate overall key management in Greek Park houses including, but not limited to, inventorying, tracking and replacing keys.

1. Assist with the preparation and coordination of reports, research articles, assessment projects, other documents, and requested materials.
2. Participate in professional development, such as national organizations, University committees, conferences, and workshops.
3. Establish and coordinate parking assignments for the Greek Park and serve as a liaison with Parking Services as needed.
4. Provide assistance and support to the Interfraternity Council as needed.
5. Serve as a liaison with any government and community agencies to facilitate issues related to on
and off-campus housing.
6. Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Greek Life.
