About the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology

The H. Milton School of Industrial and Systems Engineering is a leading unit within the Georgia Institute of Technology. The faculty of the school lead the discipline and is renowned for its focus on advancing theoretical and methodological frontiers as well as the application of analytical principles to the solution of real-world problems of industrial, societal, and global concern. Job Summary

The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the Academic Professional career track. Applicants will be considered at the Academic Professional and Senior Academic Professional ranks with specialized experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching, with clear potential for taking on considerable responsibility in teaching, educational leadership, and administrative tasks. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will serve as ISyEs Director of Student Services (DSS) and, in that role, lead the School's Academic Office.

  • The DSS manages the daily operations, supervises employees, and provides leadership for technology and process improvement in the Academic Office.
  • Jointly with the Associate Chairs for Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, the DSS develops and implements the School's teaching schedule, allocates teaching resources, and provides budget management for the office.
  • The DSS develops and oversees initiatives and processes to enhance student engagement and experience.
  • The DSS is the primary point of contact for other student-related offices on campus, including, but not limited to, the Registrar, OIE, Dean of Students.
  • The DSS assists the School Chair and the academic Associate Chairs in the preparation of materials for assessment and accreditation processes.
  • Responsibilities will also include teaching courses in the ISyE academic programs.
Required Qualifications

This is an open rank search. The final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with non-tenure track academic faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook ().

For all ranks, a Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, operation research, or a related field is required for this position.

Academic Professional

  • Significant related experience or promotion from the rank of Associate Academic Professional (or equivalent); Quality of performance and potential development must be recognized by peers.

Senior Academic Professional

  • Evidence of superior performance in the chosen field; Recognition by peers (whether national, regional, or local); Successful and measurable related experience; Five (5) years or more as an Academic Professional (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications

The successful applicant is expected to have one or more years of experience in a university environment, and affinity for enhancing student success, including some or all the Student Success Criteria listed below:
