The Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for an open-rank Academic Professional with the working title of Director of Academic Success in Academic Success and Advising (ASA), a unit within the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). Reporting to the Executive Director of Academic Success and Advising (ASA) and serving as a member of the ASA and Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) leadership teams, the director assumes leadership and responsibility for programs and services that provide academic assistance and promote student learning, with an emphasis on peer instruction in introductory STEM and other quantitative courses. This position will partner with faculty and Teaching Assistants (TAs) who teach these courses and will collaborate closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to initiate and lead initiatives that focus on improving student learning. The director will also provide campus-wide leadership around STEM-focused academic success initiatives, working in partnership with academic advisors and administrators in other academic support-focused units (e.g., OMED, CommLab, Residence Life, Athletics, Disability Services). Finally, the director advocates for student success; stays current with research and trends in academic support; participates actively in relevant professional organizations (e.g., NCLCA, ACTP, CRLA); and seeks opportunities for grant-funded initiatives.

An earned doctorate (PhD or EdD) from an accredited institution of higher education, research-intensive university, in any of the following areas: a STEM discipline or STEM education field (e.g., chemical education, physics education) or candidates with a combination of an advanced (Masters) degree in a STEM discipline and a doctorate earned from a research intensive university in another (non-STEM or STEM-education) field appropriate to the position may also be considered.
