Position Description



Responsible for preparation of annual budget and forecast for TASQ business unit. Partners with the business to prepare financial and business related analyses and research in such areas as revenue and expense performance, budgeting, and working capital. Responsible for developing accurate, timely and comprehensive financial reports for facilitating management decisions. Prepares plans and forecast using driver based modeling. Analyzes trends in sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas. Develops and recommends business policies, and conducts special financial and business related studies. Presents strategy recommendations to management. May provide training or guidance to junior Financial Analysts.

Duties:





  • Prepares forecasts and analyses for product revenues or expenses, allocations, staffing requirements, capital expenditures, etc. Analyzes cost trends and pricing initiatives projecting their impact on product costs/variances, and recommends cost reduction improvements where appropriate to ensure product profitability. Track Risks and Opportunities associated with financial forecasts.

  • Reviews financial statements and extracts and organizes data as needed. Analyzes monthly financial management reports comparing actual data with budget and previous period data.

  • Prepares Annual and Operating Budgets. Reviews actual expense and revenue data and evaluates budget performance. Analyzes budget variances to determine trends and prepares monthly reports and summaries. Prepares detailed variances between forecasts, budgets and actual results, sales increase rates, expenditures, trends, etc. Develops and recommends internal budget schedules including dates for submission, preliminary hearings, etc. Ensures that schedules are adhered to and advises management of problems and delays.

  • Partners with Business Management in the development of the annual plan/forecast and strategic plan process. Acts as a liaison between Finance and management to gather information, resolve and recommend solutions to problems, issues and concerns and research and answer questions. Provides guidance and assistance to management to assist in their understanding of plan requirements, forms and interpretation of forecasts. Reviews, analyzes, evaluates and interprets financial reports.

  • Prepares a variety of ad hoc financial reports / statements and analysis for management review such as presentation materials, graphs, charts, and data summaries needed for management meetings.

  • May assist in due diligence arising from corporate investment-related activities as required.

  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position may require up to 10 % travel per year.

  • Performs duties under minimum supervision, applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures. Interprets the financial strategy and aligns resources and people to meet strategy goals. Has appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.

  • Communicates and partners with cross-functional and/or segment teams with moderate degrees of complexity. Decisions have a considerable impact on the end results of the business unit




Requirements:





  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience (Accounting, Business, Finance or CMA).

  • A minimum of 4-6 years accounting/finance experience is required. Experience required in budgeting, financial reporting, and other varied financial disciplines. Strong organizational, problem solving, and communication skills required. Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing programs.

  • Interaction with internal contacts: Senior Business Management, Senior Finance Management, Operations, Legal, HR, Sales, Finance and other internal FDC departments (Department Heads). External customer contact includes vendors.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
