Description

We are seeking a Sr. BIM/CAD Technician for our Atlanta, GA location! Positioncould be remotely based. The Senior BIM/CAD Technician shall be responsible for supporting the fire/life safety (FLS) practice in delivering high quality deliverables in accordance with Arora's mission of "Improving the quality of life by Rethinking Infrastructure". With direction from Project Managers and FLS staff the candidate, utilizing BIM/CAD software, shall assist in the creation of construction documentation based on mark-ups, design criteria or similar guidance. In addition, the candidate must display communication skills to collaborate with internal and external team members and clients during the production process.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Revit models, views, links, view templates, etc.
  • Manage CAD files, sheet lists, references, layers, etc.
  • Setup drawings, sheets, titleblocks, references, etc. based on project standards.
  • Develop BIM/CAD backgrounds based on PDFs, field mark-ups or similar source data.
  • Support the modification and development of standard templates, details, families, etc.
  • Utilize and recommend add-in software such as Dynamo to streamline workflows.
  • Effectively represent Arora's BIM/CAD needs in Client communications and meetings.
  • Lead internal, and support external, coordination and clash resolution tasks.
  • Assist Engineers/Designers in the design of MEP/FLS systems including but not limited to fire alarm and fire protection systems.
  • Prepare engineered drawings from red line mark-ups, rough sketches, general design criteria or similar guidance from technical staff.
  • Participate in the QAQC of project deliverables.
Qualifications

Education/Experience Minimum: Minimum of two (2) years technical school training in BIM/CAD software with a minimum of five (5) years' experience utilizing BIM/CAD.

Preferred Education/Experience: Associate Degree in BIM/CAD Technology with a minimum of five (5) years' experience directly related to the design of MEP systems utilizing BIM/CAD software.

Preferred Certifications: Autodesk, or similar, certification in CAD/Revit for Mechanical and/or Electrical design.

Needed Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of CAD software systems, including Revit.
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions and written notes and translate them into work products.
  • Competent knowledge of industry standards and ability to learn and implement Arora and client standards.
  • Ability to use resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Seek out new knowledge with ability to share information with colleagues and recommend process improvements.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, colleagues, clients, visitors and public-at large.
