Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Analysis Engineer for our Kennesaw, GA location or potentially other locations depending on the level of experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and innovative team to evaluate and analyze power systems using numerous types of electrical analyses using software such as ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and/or EMTP.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, software, and techniques using independent judgment in performing calculations and studies
- Perform assignments, which have clear and specific technical objectives and have some degree of complexity independently with minimum guidance
- Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and be able to coordinate and interface with other disciplines including mechanical and civil/structural engineers
- Participate in reviewing and checking calculations, studies/evaluations, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors
- Prepare engineering studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates
- Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight
- Devise novel approaches to technical problems. Broad knowledge of precedents and operating experience in the industry
- Travel and participate in various roles for client site visits field walkdowns, equipment installations and testing, documentation collection, and site engineering support.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelors of Science Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university and 10+ years' experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to achieve PE licensure is a plus
- Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems (IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, etc.) is a plus
- Experience in Electrical Transient Application Program (ETAP), SKM, EMTP-RV, PSCAD
- Ability to effectively present and draw conclusions from large data sets
- Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintains quality standards of all assigned projects
- Ability to Maintain quality standards of all assigned projects.
Employment requirement
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client-specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
- Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
