Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and update the company’s tax calendar
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns
  • Prepare property and other tax returns
  • Assist in filling annual Federal and State Income tax returns for US
  • Assist in filling annual Federal and Provincial Income tax returns for Canada
  • Prepare tax payments
  • Perform Month-end tax close duties
  • Monitor and resolve various tax notices
  • Enforce tax compliance to reduce future tax exposure
  • Identify tax savings and recommend tax strategies that maximize that goal
  • Keep on top of tax trends and changes related to taxes
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Any other tasks as assigned by management

 

 

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subject; industry certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is preferred
  • 3+ years as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
  • Goal oriented
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high quality and a focus on detail
  • Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular)
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
