Due to continued growth, Enercon Federal Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer at our Fort Worth, TX, Kennesaw, GA or Aiken, SC location. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and innovative team working on government projects.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
- Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and is able to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepares design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates.
- Prepares electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment.
- Prepares electrical calculations based on required design inputs.
- Devises new approaches to technical problems.
- Willing to travel and participate in walkdowns, field installation, and start-up.
Required Qualifications / skills
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 6+ years of Electrical/I&C Engineering experience
- Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems.
- Required to travel up to 20 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project meetings and walkdowns. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing.
- Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message.
- Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
- Strong coordination and team building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams. Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriate.
- Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON's Defining Excellence fundamentals
- Problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
- Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
