Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

The National Director is responsible for making sure CoStar's Market Analyst group is fully staffed with high performing analysts who are adequately trained and equipped to excel in their role. The National Director is also responsible for providing leadership, direction, and vision for the Regional Economists and Market Analysts across the country. Finally, the National Director is ultimately responsible for the CMA book of business and for ensuring clients receive the best products and service in the industry.

The National Director of Analysts is responsible for making sure the Market Analyst group is contributing in an effective way to the overall mission of CoStar. Leading the group in the right direction is the most important part of the National Director job.

Work with senior management on the development of strategic direction and goals of the group. Provide vision and direction to the group around corporate goals, directions, and initiatives. Facilitate measurement and feedback on goals across the entire Market Analyst group. Interact with clients and solicit feedback on product needs.

The National Director of Analysts should continuously be thinking about the most effective systems for motivating, measuring, and rewarding production within the Market Analyst group.

Establish systems, procedures, and processes that help Market Analysts across the country in the accomplishment of key areas of production, including the following:

  • The production of more than 1,000 reports each month.
  • Maintaining a high quality to the content and the substance of the writing.
  • Delivering high quality presentations with relevant content and presented in a professional, interesting way.
  • Contributions to product design.
  • Maintaining high data quality.
  • Driving high client engagement.
  • Promoting the CMA product offering.
  • Solicit feedback on the effectiveness of group activities, and making adjustments based on this feedback. Continuously developing skills and abilities of Market Analysts.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in a managerial role in a consulting, investment, or professional services firm.
  • Familiarity with real estate markets and trends.
  • Recruiting and training experience in a professional services environment.
  • Leadership skills: personable, able to communicate vision and inspire workers
  • Track record of solving operational and management problems.
  • Organized and attentive to details
  • Strategic, big picture thinking
  • National travel required
  • Comfortable with change and working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US
