Who you are

Do you love to see the impact that high quality geographic and demographic materials can make in future business pursuits? Are you passionate about discussing technical and general aspects of big data, analysis and maps? Are you adept at coding to create industry specific data tools? Do you have experience extracting information such as demographics from various sources, and accurately presenting the findings in report and presentation format?

We are looking for an experienced GIS Analyst to join our team, based out of Atlanta. This role will be responsible for identifying, cataloging, and maintaining useful data sets, creating programs that produce data visualization materials, performing geospatial analyses, and supporting brokers and clients with various Commercial Real Estate needs in the Industrial sector across the country.

 

What you bring

  • 2-4+ years of GIS experience and/or training

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Geography, Geographic Information Systems or related degree with certification

  • Advanced proficiency in multiple GIS platforms (ESRI suite including ArcGIS Desktop and Online)

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and prioritization skills

 

Bonus skills and experience

  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python and/or JavaScript

 

What success looks like

  • You will make recommendations on study design, methodology, analytical tools, datasets, data development and other products or services that will improve Site Selection Services’ efficiency/quality, elevate Colliers’ value to the client, and perpetuate the firm’s market leadership.

  • You will implement location analysis projects; analyze output and prepare reports summarizing research findings and recommendations.

  • You will extract demographic and other information from various data sources, and accurately represent it in maps and reports.

  • You will actively support the development of web-based modeling tools and will lead continuous improvement in datasets and modeling techniques.

  • You are an excellent communicator who can effectively present information and respond to queries for information in both written and oral format.

  • You will regularly interview state and local government agencies, economic development organizations, utility providers, and employers to compile comparative data on operating costs and the operating environment in various locations under consideration for a client investment.

  • You are a self-starter who can take the lead on complex projects, work under pressure, deal with multiple deadlines, handle stressful situations and work with minimal supervision.
