Founded in 1990, the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs is dedicated to educating the next generation of scholars and practitioners on diverse approaches to tackling real-world problems to advance the global human condition. We provide comprehensive, interdisciplinary, multi-method, and flexible undergraduate and graduate social science programming at the nexus of science and technology, with special attention to strategic, political economy, and comparative political perspectives on international security, global development, and governance. The Nunn School is a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs. Nunn School faculty may hold joint appointments with other units across the Institute including but not limited to the School of Public Policy, the School of Cybersecurity and Privacy, and the Scheller College of Business.

Job Summary

The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral fellowship to begin Fall 2023. The fellowship will focus on policy and global developments related to cislunar space. The ideal candidate would have policy-relevant academic research and teaching interests related to outer space and international affairs. Topics of particular interest could include cislunar space domain awareness, national security implications of cislunar development, the role of the private sector in cislunar activities, space governance, space and international security, and/or the evolving geopolitics of space activity.

A successful applicant will conduct individual research, participate in relevant outreach activities, collaborate with Nunn School faculty and graduate students to pursue sponsored research programs, and teach one course per semester. Depending on research interests and project needs, there may be opportunity for the successful applicant to collaborate and gain on-the-job training via related projects at the Georgia Tech Research Institute.

Required Qualifications

Conferred Ph.D. in a relevant field. Knowledge of policy-relevant academic research and teaching interests related to outer space and international affairs.

Individuals eligible for a security clearance are preferred.

$65,000
