About the Department | The Department of Cultural and Behavioral Sciences at Georgia State University Perimeter College is a diverse department that offers pathways of study focused on the academic and applied investigations of how humans interact-behaviorally, geographically, instructionally, socially and culturally. We offer dynamic learning environments that cultivate communication skills, critical and creative thinking and scientific inquiry. Our students build an awareness of how personal, societal and cultural development can be applied to living and working in a culturally diverse environment. Education centers on the best practices of preparing tomorrow's minds. Students investigate educational theory, policy, research and practice from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. They learn to think critically and creatively about the processes of teaching and learning and about the place of education in society. |
Position Description | Perimeter College is seeking part-time instructors in EDUCATION who will play a key role in educating and supporting students. |
Required Experience | K-12 teaching experience is required. |
Required Education | To qualify to teach EDUCATION, applicants must have: A minimum of a master's degree in Education, and must be certified (or eligible for certification) to teach in the state of Georgia. A Ph.D. or Ed.D is preferred. Graduate coursework should focus on K-12 education and curriculum, as opposed to adult education, educational pyschology, counseling education, higher education, or educational leadership or administration. |
Preferred Qualifications/Experience | College teaching experience is preferred. |

Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations, etc | Must be certified (or eligible for certification) to teach in the state of Georgia. |
Pre-Employment Requirements | A Criminal History Check is Required. |
Work Hours | Classes at Perimeter College are offered morning, afternoon and evening including weekends. |
Salary | $2,100.00 for each 3 Semester Credit Hour course taught |
