The Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) at Georgia State University is seeking a Professor of Practice in Virtual Production and Visual Effects, with a start date in January 2024. This position requires a minimum of a Master's degree or its equivalent in film production or related technology, along with at least five years of experience in virtual film and media production and visual effects, including experience with augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), LED technology, motion and volumetric capture, visual effects, game engine VFX, previsualization, and animation. The primary responsibilities of the Professor of Practice include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in virtual film and media production and VFX, collaborating with students and industry professionals on virtual media projects, and participating in research endeavors that involve students. Furthermore, they are expected to contribute to the university and CMII, drawing on their in-depth understanding of the creative and production pipeline in their specific domain.
