We are currently seeking a Senior Transmission Lines Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing - Utilities Infrastructure/Electric Transmission and Substations Team at our Atlanta, Georgia office. Working remotely from home may be an option for the right candidate.

The Senior Transmission Lines Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. At CHA, our Senior Transmission Lines Engineer, plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. This role is also responsible for providing technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)

The Senior Transmission Lines Engineer is also expected to be able to resolve highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitor the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. Addiotionally, they are expected to recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results and make appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) required
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required
  • Experience with overhead transmission lines engineering design
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Ability to execute projects up to 500kV
  • Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team and work under time and budget constraints
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
