Job Description
Multiple Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Biology – Log #25-046

Life Sciences at Georgia State University is experiencing dynamic growth in multiple departments across the University. The Department of Biology is central to this growth, with excellent research programs in cellular and molecular biology, microbiology, and metabolic physiology, and educational programs across the biology spectrum (https://biology.gsu.edu). We invite applications for two tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology to contribute to this growth. We seek outstanding researchers with expertise in cellular and molecular approaches, systems biology, bioinformatics, and metabolomics to strengthen institutional expertise in microbiology, quantitative biology, and research related to metabolic disorders.


Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in Biology or a closely related discipline. Successful candidates must demonstrate in their research statement their potential for developing a vigorous extramurally funded research program that will synergize with the research strengths in the Department of Biology mentioned above and have a strong potential for research collaboration across life sciences at GSU. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding, a strong publication record, and experience mentoring and teaching students from diverse backgrounds.

Selected candidates will be expected build or maintain a vibrant collaborative externally funded research agenda and to teach graduate and undergraduate biology classes. A competitive salary, start-up funds, and laboratory
space will be provided.
