Job Description
Professor of Practice, GSUTV – Communication – Log #24-100

The Department of Communication at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, is currently accepting applications for a Professor of Practice position, with an anticipated start date of May 2024. We are seeking highly skilled media practitioners specializing in Digital TV production to join our educational program. This Professor of Practice will teach every semester, mentor graduate and undergraduate students in all aspects of production and contribute to content creation for GSUTV.

Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in digital TV production within studio settings and in the field.
- Instructional effectiveness, whether through formal academic experience or media training experiences.

- Experience with professional-grade cameras.

Experience with digital editing tools.


Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with program development.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, digital).
-
Knowledge of the latest broadcasting technologies.

- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and ProTools.

The Department of Communication offers a diverse range of undergraduate programs including degrees in Journalism (multi-media reporting, public relations, and media & society), Speech Communication, M.A. degrees in Communication (research track), and Digital Media Strategies (professional track), and a doctoral degree in Communication Studies.
