Provides nursing assistance and patient care for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties within the construct of a unit-based, self- directed, multidisciplinary patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members. Performs general clerical and reception duties according to needs of patient unit or department. Position is characterized by preparing and maintaining patient charts, transcribing physician orders, and entering information into computerized patient care system.

The 9T Cardiology is a 32-bed unit designed to provide 24/7 care to adolescents, adults, and a geriatric patient population with acute illness or varying stages of recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical intervention. The unit features all acute care private rooms with telemetry capabilities. There is a diversity of patients with alterations of the cardiovascular system, including those with: Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy, ACS/Angina/Chest Pain, NSTEMI, Coronary Artery Disease, Arrhythmic Dysfunction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and DVT. This unit is also equipped to provide care to patients who are post-diagnostic cardiac catheterization, cardiac device implant and electrophysiology study and/or ablation.

REQUIRED:
1. Listed as a CNA on the GA Registry, OR a. Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course, OR b. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program and Certified as a Registered Medical Assistant. If eligible, must obtain certification within 30 days of hire, OR c. Enrolled in a School of Nursing and has completed one (1) full semester of clinical rotations, OR d. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Medical Degree program e. GPN or EMT with one year experience with relevant training and experience 2. Current BLS card (CPR) 3. Clinical Care Associates hired under the legacy Gwinnett Patient Care Tech job description are deemed qualified for the Northside Patient Care Tech II position. Grandfathered employees will be given 180 days from 10.01.2021 to complete additional training identified by the Clinical Education Department.
PREFERRED:
1. One year patient care experience in an acute care setting 2. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant Program
