Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Environmental Scientist in our Kennesaw, GA office. The position will apply your academic knowledge and solid understanding and experience with standard practices and techniques used when working with environmental, geotechnical, and other engineer data projects to support and manage projects that include environmental assessments, groundwater remediation, water resources, geotechnical construction, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Analysis, interpretation, and management of large and diverse datasets using appropriate computer applications (eg. MS Access, MS SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage);
  • Development and management of comprehensive Extract Transform Load (ETL) workflows to automate compilation of data from multiple sources and serve data to maps, reports and other tools;
  • Use of advanced statistical and computational methods for data analysis and assessments (R, Python, AI/ML pipelines);
  • Data visualization for technical storytelling;
  • Analysis of historical data to gain insight into previous trends and patterns, as well as predictive analysis of future trends;
  • Development and configuration of engineering decision support systems and platforms;
  • Preparation of interactive data dashboards, presentations, technical reports, and legal reports;
  • Assisting in the development of proposals and other business development activities; and
  • Interacting with internal and external clients to support database management and data visualization for environmental engineering, and geoscience projects.
  • Fieldwork: up to 20%
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, science, or geology. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of related work experience working with databases, visualization tools, modeling, and/or software development; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Ability to automate processes using scripts (e.g., R, Python). (required)
  • Direct experience managing environmental, geologic, and geotechnical data collection. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of laboratory analytical data verification and validation processes. (preferred)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
