An exciting opportunity at Mott MacDonald waits for experienced transportation professionals in Atlanta, GA. We're known for delivering projects in the areas of water, energy, transport, built environment, and advisory. Our South-Central team supports some of the most ambitious transportation, water, and infrastructure projects in North America, including:

  • Regionally significant - Rome-Cartersville Development Corridor - Project includes 13 bridges, new interchange on I-75 and 6 turbo roundabouts.

  • SR 17 GRIP Corridor - 12.2 miles of 2-lane to 4-lane widening

  • Gordon Highway Improvements - 10.0 miles of resurfacing, rehabilitation and sidewalk improvements in GDOT's TIA program.

  • Multiple contracts in GDOT's bridge replacement program

  • Gwinnett County Transportation On-Call - widenings and intersections

  • Design-Build projects of different delivery methods.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assists in the development of OpenRoads for highway projects.

  • Perform complex design/engineering tasks accurately.

  • Manage the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, studies, and designs for projects.

  • Compiles and computes a variety of engineering data or reviews similar deliverables produced by a multi-state design team.

  • Work collaboratively with various discipline design teams to develop detailed design documents for preliminary, right of way, and construction plans.

  • Perform and review detailed calculations related to typical roadway design geometry and quantities.

  • Prepare plans, and details and develop engineering drawings, specifications, and other project deliverables.

  • Attend project meetings and prepare agendas and meeting minutes.

  • Must have the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.

  • Must have staff, contract, and client management skills.

  • Provides technical expertise to designers and younger engineers.

  • Required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, for multiple states.

  • Knowledgeable on the Georgia and surrounding states markets and able to support senior.

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program

  • 20+ years' experience in transportation or civil engineering.

  • Active Georgia Professional Engineer License or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Proficiency with CAD particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.

  • Familiarity with GDOT design standards and policies, adjacent states are a plus.

  • OpenRoads Designer experience highly desirable.

  • Microsoft Office products a plus.

  • Preferable background is roadway engineering.

  • Written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present effective technical reports.

  • While this position is predominately in the office, occasional work in the field may be required.

  • Open to occasional travel.
