Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Accounts Receivable to support Price Optimization Business Unit. The Director of Accounts Receivable will provide overall accounts receivable leadership for the Business Unit, including and not limited to overseeing a team of approximately 15 associates, providing strategic finance direction, process simplification, and operational decision making to business unit leadership.

Success is defined by the achievement of accounts receivable goals (ex. cash flow, minimal bad debt loss, percent of Accounts Receivable current, etc.), as well as quality and process performance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and direction for all activities within accounts receivable processing, administration, and personnel, including but not limited to billing/invoicing, collections and cash applications activities.

  • Identifies optimization opportunities in billing/invoicing, cash applications and collections processes and work with stakeholders to help create a roadmap to implement improvements while maximizing efficiencies.

  • Implement effective and efficient collection strategies, processes and workflows to support overall financial goals.

  • Continually review customer payment patterns to ensure that account balances are current and payment trends are in line with company standards.

  • Provide leadership regarding the standardization of customer payment processes.

  • Develop management reporting for daily, weekly, monthly tracking of accounts receivable performance.

  • Provide forecasting for collections as an input for cash flow, providing guidance to team for goal attainment, and feedback to management relating to accounts receivable status.

  • Develop and drive best practices in operations and processes ensuring consistency with company requirements, internal and external controls and audit requirements,

  • Responsible for execution of overall talent recruitment and development strategies for Accounts Receivable including recruitment, hiring, training, employee development and performance management. Recommend changes in employee salaries and status including reclassification, transfers, promotions, and terminations.

  • Plan, organize, lead and control the activities of the group, including projects, schedules, priorities, and personnel. This includes operational and strategic efforts aimed to drive business process improvement including cost management opportunities.

  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert to external clients regarding business policies, processes, procedures, and measures that drive the realization of business strategies (e.g., accounts receivable management)

  • Foster an environment of operational excellence and promote/implement continuous improvement practices.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior finance and business leaders within the broader Zelis organization.
