Job Description

The maintenance electrician supervisor works with their team members to ensure that preventative electric maintenance is performed for machinery, buildings and grounds to meet all maintenance requirements to ensure a productive and safe work environment. You must be able to resolve routine personnel issues in a union environment. The supervisor will supervise hourly maintenance employees assigned to the maintenance shop.

The maintenance supervisor will be responsible for the preventive maintenance of all plant facilities and working directly with all department supervisors and managers to resolve any electric maintenance issues as soon as possible to support production. Also, responsible for maintaining fire prevention equipment; direct all plant equipment startup and weekend shutdowns, including daily inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains a safe and effective work environment and uses appropriate personal protective and safety equipment
  • Performs and overseas layout and installation of electrical systems
  • Repairs and oversea the repairs of electrical circuits, controls, electrical systems, automatic and remote controls, bus bars, switches, and miscellaneous electrical equipment

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND/OR TRAINING:

High School diploma with 2 years of college or trade school preferred with a minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance required. Some supervisory experience preferred. The maintenance supervisor must be computer literate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Frequently lift 25 lbs.

- Must work with hands to operate maintenance tools and equipment.

- Must work in tight, awkward workspaces to perform maintenance tasks.

- Must work standing and/or seated position and /or work on the floor in a kneeling, seated or crawling position.

- Must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment
