What you'll do

As an Operational Excellence - Lean Practitioner at Viasat you are joining a growing and dynamic group of Lean Practitioners with tangible opportunity to make your own personal impact on the competencies and direction of the team and the company. As a Lean Practitioner, you will be integrated into the broader IE team and predominately operate as a site-lead for the implementation of Lean and 6sigma methods. You will be the face of Lean implementation with primary responsibilities including strategic direction setting, tool selection, implementation leadership, people change management, Lean culture building, and cost impact reporting.


The day-to-day

As an experienced Lean Practitioner, you will be responsible for influencing the adoption of Lean broadly across the organization. From a position of hands-on-engagement you will influence the adoption of Lean via support and resolution of complex business and manufacturing problems. You will focus on schedule performance, quality, and cost metrics as you transform operations towards Operational Excellence standards. At Viasat you will be applying both strategic and tactical skills ranging from implementation of standard work to facilitating policy deployment. This role demands an innate aptitude toward relations development, mentorship, and people change management supported by your holistic knowledge of Lean, 6sigma, continuous improvement, and manufacturing operations.


What you'll need

  • 6-10+ years of applicable experience supporting Lean manufacturing as an Industrial Engr, Manufacturing Engr, Lean Implementation Engr, Continuous Improvement Engr, or similar role
  • 4+ years of close exposure to Manufacturing Leadership or Management
  • Deep understanding of Toyota Production System principles.
  • Significant leadership and experience in brown-field Lean implementations
  • Significant leadership and experience influencing organizational change across all levels and roles.
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach to your roles and responsibilities
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Lean and 6sigma training
  • LSSMBB or LSSBB (MBB preferred)

Salary range

$118,900.00 - $206,900.00 / annually
