Job Description
Cox Enterprises, Inc. is hiring an experienced and highly motivated Tax Manager to lead the U.S. international reporting and compliance activities for Cox Enterprises and its foreign subsidiaries. This position entails a significant amount of coordination between various functional groups. A successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, along with the ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise outsourcing arrangements for US International tax returns and manage all data-gathering workstreams with Cox's local country finance teams.
  • Review the ASC 740 income tax provision and related calculations for Cox's international subsidiaries.
  • Consult with international finance teams on local income and sales tax issues, tax audits, and reporting.
  • Review and oversee the status of foreign tax return filings and BEPS reporting.
  • Monitor relevant legislation and proactively consider impacts on Cox.
  • Advise on the tax implications of international employee travel on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Oversee cross-border activity and ensure adherence to transfer pricing policies.
  • Prepare required elections and disclosures such as check-the-box elections.
  • Work with Tax Planning team members on special transactions and worldwide tax planning projects to provide tax and operational efficiencies.
  • Proactively identify and recommend improvements to international tax processes.
  • Coordinate with team members from International Finance, Forecasting, and Planning, Legal, and US Accounting, as well as various professional service firms worldwide.


Qualifications:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 6 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree in accounting and 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • 3+ years of international tax experience, preferably at a large corporation or public accounting firm.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with leadership potential and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience with tax software applications such as OneSource.


Preferred

  • CPA
  • Public accounting experience
  • 1 year in a manager role


USD 97,100.00 - 161,800.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
