HDR is currently seeking a Senior Lighting Designer for our Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Omaha, Nebraska. Our team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. In addition, we offer specialty services consisting of Fire & Life Safety, Building Commissioning, Specialty Lighting, Controls Systems, OT Cybersecurity, Low Voltage/Security/Telecom and Construction Services. Our team works in a wide variety of markets including Corporate/Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, Water/Wastewater, Federal and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Lighting Designer, we'll count on you to:

• Work with project teams on all aspects of the art, science and business of lighting design
• Take responsibility for project management, presentations, lighting calculations, cost models, energy and economic calculations, construction documentation, and construction administration support.
• Support all marketing efforts and coordinate scope of services.
• Maintain knowledge of lighting needs for HDR's primary market sectors: Healthcare, Science and Technology, Federal, Civic, Corporate Commercial, and Entertainment.
• Supervise less-experienced lighting designers as needed
• Publish articles and submit projects for lighting design awards.
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design or closely related field
• 10 years of experience devoted to architecture lighting design
• Lighting Certified (LC) through the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP)
• Professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and/or Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) through the IALD.
• Member of Illuminating Engineering Society.
• Extensive knowledge of the art, science and business of lighting design
• Excellent presentation skills and strong computer skill using AGI32, eLumtools, Revit, AutoCad and Microsoft Office
• Experience in sustainable design
• Lighting design experience in the following market sectors: Healthcare, Science and Technology, Federal, Entertainment, Corporate Commercial, and Civic.
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
• Effective working individually and within team environments
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Society involvement and/or industry leadership.
• Extensive project experience in a new or emerging market sector potential for HDR.
• PE license
• LEED, WELL and/or EDAC certification
• SketchUp, 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Rhino, Grasshopper, DIVA, iRay, Lumion.

The expected compensation range for this position is $122,353.00 - $174,790.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
