Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to deliver thermal generation, offshore wind, energy storage, distributed generation/microgrid, utility scale solar, and onshore wind.

The Project Manager will provide leadership to these state-of -the-art projects to support business line growth and consistently deliver projects successfully. In this role the PM will work with the Regional Manager to support our culture of internal and external client service, build our strength in understanding and anticipating client needs and expectations, execute strategies to advance the client's project objectives and manage risk, establish priorities, promote alignment the project team, and resolve emergent problems. This position is responsible for building and maintaining a strong relationship with the subcontractors, owner, architect, and engineers and is instrumental in our business line helping to lead the energy transition projects across North America.


Responsibilities

  • Support Regional Manager with proposal scope, design hours, and schedule development.
  • Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Regional Manager.
  • Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
  • Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
  • Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
  • Participates in formulating and coordinating proposals and provides other Marketing support, including Business Development.
  • Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and manpower needed on projects.
  • Hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
  • Working with Regional Manager, negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors' approval.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all internal employees and sub consultants involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meetings).
  • Working with Regional Manager, review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-determined goal.
  • Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
  • Working with Regional Manager, ensure that all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client.
  • Ensure that all out-of-scope work and associated fees are approved by the client prior to performing the services.
  • Solicit help and involvement from Regional Manager and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
  • Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to clients. Follows up with clients for timely payments.

Qualifications

  • Education: BSEE or MSEE is highly preferred; however not required if a person has strong proven qualifications.
  • Total Experience: 5 years minimum
  • Design/Engineering: 3 to 4 years.
  • Project Management: 2 to 3 years.
  • PE Preferred but not Required.
  • Proven project design and engineering experience with Solar Collection / Solar Arrays / Wind Turbines / Transmission / Distribution / Substation / BESS.
  • Preferred but not required is a constructability knowledge as well as supported construction as the engineer for Renewable, Substation, Transmission, and Distribution projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other job-related software such as eTap, SKM, CYME, PLS Cadd, PVCase, PVSyst.
  • Aptitude to learn, apply and teach others technical skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent time management, delegation, and organizational skills.
