Primary Job Duties:

  • Conducts intake evaluations including functional behavioral assessments and skills assessments.
  • Demonstrates understanding and the ability to apply principles and techniques of ABA and provide direction to other staff in their implementation.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Develops behavior intervention plans and individual treatment plans/programming to include both behavior reduction and skill acquisition. Responsible for the training and fidelity of interventions.
  • Provides training and supervision to RBTs
      • Completes RBT competency assessments and reassessments
      • Responsible for continued competence and professional growth of RBTs during weekly consultations, providing written feedback, supervision meetings, and additional trainings as needed.
      • Ensures supervision hours of RBTs meet the requirements of the BACB
  • Builds and maintains positive family/caregiver relationships throughout the course of treatment.
  • Trains parents, caregivers and ABA technicians who implement plans with children and families on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Graphs data, adjusts strategies as needed to ensure progress, and provides routine progress summaries.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Certified and maintain credentialing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a BCBA in good standing.

The ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills; legible handwriting; ability to maintain information as highly confidential; telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face; familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred; skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization; skills in prioritizing and in managing time; problem-solving skills; use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients; empathy toward children and adolescents; basic knowledge of child growth and development preferred; experience working with children with autism; skill in following behavioral plans necessary; able to respond to children/adolescents in a consistent and caring manner, consistent in maintaining professional boundaries; willingness to seek supervision in this regard when necessary.
