As a Senior Fiber Delivery Engineer on the Cloud Interconnection + Acquisitions (CI+A) Team you will contribute to building a world-class network infrastructure by working with Metro Dark Fiber, Long-Haul Fiber, subsea, and Lit Wave circuits. Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Fiber Delivery Engineer, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. ResponsibilitiesDrive alignment to the goals and strategy of Microsoft with external customers, vendors, and suppliers and maintain good working relationships and communication channels.Perform market research, conduct analyses, and examine customer and technology-related industry trends, as well as industry-specific requirements or regulations to solve complex Network Capacity Delivery matters, identify areas of opportunity, and lead process improvements.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to propose and design architecture and integrated customer solutions for product and service support.Develop robust, scalable, and diversified operating procedures and strategies for Fiber Sourcing and Delivery segments.Manage frontline technical projects with external suppliers by pulling and tracking construction schedules, including civils, permitting, cable overpulls, overlaying with E2E schedule and producing reports.Manage governance programs and processes to ensure that specific performance requirements and standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.Embody our culture and values.
