Essential Functions:

1. Establish and implement BTD's Paint processes.

2. Develops and helps design systems and processes to prepare materials for Ecoat and powder paint.

3. Works with personnel engaged in constructing, controlling, and improving equipment to carry out material preparation and paint application.

4. Prepares Standard work instructions.

5. Analyzes operating procedures, equipment, and machinery functions to reduce processing time and costs.

6. Assist in problem solving and prevention activities for the main facilities in the Paint Shop (Paint Booth, Oven, etc.)

7. Serve as a technical expert during new product quote and launch.

8. Request materials and equipment needed to prepare for production.

9. Review and evaluate current processes and compare with the latest technology and capabilities.

10. Ensure environmental compliance in paint systems. Check and confirm local and federal laws, regulations, and rules as required

11. Leads or participates in root cause identification and corrective actions to resolve issues involving noncompliant product or material.

12. Analyzes, calculates payback and recommends equipment for the manufacture of products.

13. Complies with BTD's management system and processes.

14. Performs other work-related duties as requested.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Graduation from high school or equivalent and two or four year technical college or university with degree or certificate in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in painting operations in a manufacturing environment; six (6) years directly related experience may substitute for advanced degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Paint Application Systems (minimum of 2 years). Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Experience and Skills Required: At least two years of recent paint line experience in operations, manufacturing engineering or quality and the following skills and abilities:

1. Ability to effectively communicate with computer, phone, drawings, speaking and written skills.

2. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and processes associated with Ecoat and powder paint systems.

3. Strong working knowledge of the BTD management processes and procedures system and the ability to enforce company standards.

4. Ability to read, interpret and understand the use of production blueprints and specifications.

5. Ability to convert manufacturing processing plans into action; provide implementation of planned processing.

6. Can provide, communicate and implement ideas that improve safety, quality, delivery and cost in part processing.

7. Adhere to BTD's employee safety manual.

8. Ability to establish, encourage and maintain effective working relationships with others.
