The Decarbonization and Environmental Programs Manager will be responsible for championing and leading decarbonization efforts within the company, and to meet Porsche's strategic goal of achieving net carbon neutrality by 2030. The position will also be responsible for maintaining and developing the companies Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and to retain the companies ISO14001 EMS certification. The position will be based at our Atlanta headquarters, and will cover areas of responsibility at all Porsche facilities throughout NA; including the ATL headquarters, ATL and LA Experience Centers, GA, CA and PA distribution centers, and CA and PA technical training centers.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Champion and lead the companies carbon emissions reduction efforts, including but not limited to;
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, track, and report carbon emissions status
    • Support internal stakeholders with design, implementation and maintenance of carbon emissions reduction initiatives
    • Lead design, implementation and maintenance of Corporate Facilities carbon emissions reduction initiatives
    • Lead design, implementation and maintenance of carbon emissions tracking and reporting platform, and key performance indicators,
    • Lead and support carbon emissions data collection and analysis
    • Coordinate with parent company (Porsche AG) on global emissions reduction efforts
    • Lead presentation and reporting of decarbonization topics to CFO, senior leadership and stakeholders
    • Coordinate with internal Finance, Procurement, HR, Internal Controls, Compliance, Operations and After Sales, Marketing, and PR stakeholders on all decarbonization topics
  • Champion and lead the companies Environmental Management System (EMS), including but not limited to;
    • Develop, implement and maintain EMS to ensure compliance with internal and external policies, compliance and regulatory requirements
    • Develop and maintain EMS to retain ISO14001 certification at ATL headquarters
    • Lead EMS activities including but not limited to annual review of;
      • EMS Manual
      • Compliance obligations
      • Environmental Aspects Register
      • Environmental and waste policies
      • Environmental goals
    • Coordinate with internal Finance, Procurement, HR, Internal Controlling, Compliance, Operations and After Sales, Automotive Workshop Technician, Marketing and PR stakeholders to identify, develop, track and report on all EMS responsibilities and topics
    • Lead design, implementation and maintenance of Corporate Facilities EMS responsibilities and topics
    • Design and perform internal audits for EMS obligations
    • Lead and support identification and tracking of environmental goals
    • Coordinate with parent company (Porsche AG) on EMS topics
    • Lead standardization of EMS reporting
    • Coordinate with HR and internal stakeholders to identify relevant environmental training opportunities for employees
    • Lead presentation and reporting of EMS topics to CFO, senior leadership and stakeholders
    • Lead development, implementation and maintenance of EMS to achieve ISO14001 certification at additional sites
  • Develop and manage operating expense budgets for areas of responsibility
  • Review and approve invoices for all service providers
  • Administration activities associated with areas of responsibility
  • Prepare information, analysis, recommendations and presentations to update stakeholders and leadership, and to obtain approvals as necessary
  • First point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for all carbon emissions and EMS topics
  • Subject Matter Expert in carbon emissions and EMS topics
  • Lead procurement efforts of any outsourced service providers in coordination and alignment with procurement, internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Act as EMS Head, and Environmental Management Officer (EMO) at the ATL site, with responsibility for environmental management systems compliance and reporting
  • Lead internal and external audit reviews and ensure timely and accurate close out of all action items
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for the proper usage of, awareness of, and compliance with Information Technology security policies at Porsche
  • Seeks to ensure proper retention of electronic documents, business confidential information, and actively demonstrates an understanding of the need to safeguard competitive information in both electronic and non-electronic formats
QualificationsQualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required
  • Master's Degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 year's of experience in managing environmental and sustainability topics in a corporate environment preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge and passion for environmental, decarbonization and sustainability topics
  • Experience in project management and leading internal teams

Percentage of required travel: 15%

Position Location: Atlanta, Ga - Porsche US Headquarters

Schedule/Shift: Hybrid - 50% in office and 50% remote.

Physical requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment
