Job Description

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting measurements and debugging RF semiconductor components such as amplifiers, filters, switches, mixers, multi-chip modules, and integrated microwave assemblies that operate from DC to 40 GHz.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts manual and automated production tests on RF semiconductor components
  • Operates, troubleshoots electronics measurement equipment and automated test software
  • Records, and organizes test results. Communicates status of various production efforts
  • Develops detailed understanding of RF MMIC behavior, packaging, and technical specifications.
  • Performs occasional surface mount assembly/rework with hand soldering equipment.
  • Work with engineering design team to prototype and characterize new products

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of work experience with RF electronics testing at the component level
  • Associate degree in electronics preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic circuits fundamentals, and RF measurement methods
  • Significant experience with lab test equipment including Vector Network Analyzers, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, digital multi-meters, and basic electronic tools

Qualifications

  • Ability to read circuit schematic drawings and troubleshoot RF electronics at a component level.
  • Ability to follow test procedures, and independently diagnose and solve hardware-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers.
  • Team player with positive attitude

Physical Job Requirements

  • Work in a production/lab environment
  • The ability to use your hands in a skillful, coordinated way to precisely manipulate small objects under microscope
  • Specific vision abilities include: close vision, color vision, depth perception
  • Soldering and assembly work at the printed circuit board level
