Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is an engineering and scientific investigation and failure analysis firm. We primarily work with law firms, insurance companies, and manufacturers on small to large-scale projects to answer any technical questions they have. Our projects can entail investigating major transportation accidents, equipment failures, personal injury claims, and damage to residential or commercial structures. Key Responsibilities

  • Working in partnership with supervisor, foster and build client relationships, at the direction of supervisor, through involvement in industry organizations and representing the organization at external events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all necessary support programs, materials, and other such activities as they relate to assigned external client communication and event activities.
  • Executes client communication activities (e.g., phone, email, letters) and develops appropriate support documentation under company guidelines and supervisor approval, to properly communicate company strengths and benefits to clients.
  • Is responsible for achieving specific, identified target tasks within the identified timeline as directed by the supervisor (and/or the various assigned Regional Office Managers (ROMs) or Technical Directors, per supervisor approval)
  • Is responsible for noting relevant activity (weekly or more frequently as needed) in the company-provided Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to keep the company updated on specific progress and activity.
  • Creates and implements business development strategies and programs to expand the client base in the assigned region according to the organization's short and long-range goals and objectives.

  • Executes strategic marketing initiatives at the direction of the supervisor (and/or the various assigned Regional Office Managers (ROMs) or Technical Directors).
  • Research, and identify new clients and markets, creating opportunities for the organization's introduction within your geographic region.
  • Remains current on relevant economic and business activity as it relates to your assigned region. Determine the impact and make recommendations to the supervisor, practice groups, and office leadership to remain competitive.
  • Provides input and assists with corporate advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Serves as liaison with outside agencies and vendors on ongoing promotional campaigns.
  • Executes marketing expenditures based on national and regional budgets, with the approval of the supervisor and/or regional office manager.
  • Ensures effective control of marketing program results and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing and business development plans and activities falls within designated budgets.
  • Forecasts and reports client activity in your geographic region.

Qualifications

Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Preferably in the field of Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.

Experience Required

  • 2-5 years of business development experience.
  • Work experience within a professional services field, (legal, accounting, architectural/engineering or management consulting) preferred.

  • Ability to maintain a polished and professional demeanor at all times.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who is able to work unsupervised.
  • Strong organizational, time management and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Proven aptitude in using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and comparable Mac programs.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of database programs, the Internet, and web-based meeting programs.
  • Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop skills are a plus.
  • Creative and analytical business development skills a plus.
  • Previous experience speaking in public is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
