JOB MISSION:

The Global Marketing PR and Media Associate is a unique opportunity to join New Balance's Boston-based Global Marketing Team. As we continue to expand our global presence, we are seeking a dynamic PR and Media Marketing Associate to join our passionate marketing team.

A driver of New Balance's brand growth is seeding our products to partners, athletes, artists and influencers. This role will play a pivotal role in spearheading strategic PR initiatives and seeding programs, collaborating closely with our Global Media, Performance and Lifestyle teams to drive positive brand energy. This role requires a creative thinker with a deep understanding of the sports and lifestyle industry, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building strong relationships with media and influencers. This position is based at the New Balance Boston headquarters.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Primary Responsibility - Seeding Programs:

  • Strategize, execute and manage product seeding programs.
  • This position will be responsible for identifying and maintaining relationships with influencers, celebrities, athletes and media.
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of seeding efforts, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Own ordering process of inline footwear and apparel product needs for PR (sport & lifestyle categories).
  • Track, receive and organize in-bound product samples.
  • Fulfill seeding shipments as directed by Global Marketing teams across sport and lifestyle categories.
  • Familiarize yourself with New Balance's categories and our marketing plans, ensuring alignment with seeding and sampling strategies.
  • Understand and develop processes for prioritizing samples and seeding shipments.
  • Develop communications to be included with samples, tailored to diverse recipients.

Secondary Responsibility - PR and Media Relations:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, PR agencies, and other internal departments to develop and execute public relations initiatives.
  • Maintain and foster relationships within, across, and with external partners, including media and influencers.
  • Create press releases, tech sheets, media briefing documents, and other essential PR materials.
  • Coordinate media interviews, product reviews, and other PR activities to increase brand awareness and consideration with the target audience.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • BA/BS required, with a preference for Marketing, Communications or Public Relations degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in PR, influencer/social marketing, or related roles (with a preference for sports/fashion industry experience).
  • Detail oriented, with ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the evolving marketplace, media, digital and social platforms.
  • Preference for candidates with an interest in New Balance's categories.
  • Experience in fashion, basketball, running, global football and/or tennis preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated writing experience, are essential.
  • Candidate must be energetic, have a positive "can do" attitude and experience working in a team environment.
  • Some travel required - less than 15%.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
