Summary

Manages marketing and communications projects, including proposals, presentations, advertising, brochure development, events, and other strategic marketing campaigns. Develops marketing talent to grow their skills and career in marketing. Ensures adherence to company policies, consistency in message, and coordination of efforts in alignment with the Balfour Beatty brand. Provides support services for acquiring new business and for internal and external communications.

Essential Functions

  • Leads and assists with the preparation of responses to requests for proposals, qualifications, presentations, and other requested information (schedule, plan, strategy, strip out assignments and follow-up, editing, kickoff/status meeting schedule, review, etc.).
  • Lead and develop individuals on the marketing team, providing them with opportunities for: learning, increased responsibility, teamwork, growth in company/industry understanding, feedback and recognition.
  • Set goals and objectives for the marketing team and oversee and measure marketing teamwork flow to best meet department and company objectives.
  • Works with local executives to support the company's market visibility.
  • Contributes ideas and development in the strategic planning process.
  • Continuously improves, refines, and updates boilerplate proposal information and presentations.
  • Coordinates with team to ensure efficiencies in sharing and archiving data, proposals, presentations, narratives, graphics, debriefs, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with outside vendors including photographers, design consultants, printers and suppliers to support in-house resources.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with owner and design team partners in pursuing projects, responding to client requests, and coordinating events (team kick-off meetings, design-build proposals, final photography, award submittals, press release and direct mail review, etc.).
  • Supports internal and external communications projects including award nominations, company blog, internal newsletter, social media, and website.
  • Ownership in CRM and Digital Asset Management updates and maintenance.

Promote Customer Relations

  • Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.

  • Participates in company training programs and commits to self-development.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

The majority of work is completed in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing and walking.

Periodic travel required.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

  • BA or BS in Marketing, Communications, or a related field plus a minimum of 7 years of AEC industry experience preferred.
  • Experience managing direct reports preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe InDesign and competent in other Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines and in the face of incomplete information.
  • Able to organize people, tools, equipment, and other resources and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish desired results.
  • Able to create, manage, and revise schedules and related assignments based on priorities while considering work/life balance for self and others.
  • Demonstrated project management skills such as planning, scheduling, resourcing, implementing, measuring outcomes, etc.
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships, establish rapport; relate to all kinds of people at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, delegate and provide direction to others, and effectively address conflict.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
