Responsible for coordination, day to day operations, training, and leadership of the Telephone Triage team. Also monitors telephone calls and gathers all necessary and pertinent information regarding medical problems and symptoms to discuss with the physician. Ensures all necessary calls and messages are handled in an expedient manner. Must help support of all NGDC offices as needed. Responsible for performing all duties in accordance with Practice policies and procedures.

  1. Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant, through the American Association of Medical Assistants and a minimum of three years management experience in business, nursing, or healthcare related field OR
  2. Graduate from a medical assisting program or institute accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and a minimum of three years management experience in business, nursing or healthcare related field OR
  3. Graduate of a US Military Medic course AMRT,AARTS,CCAFS,ACE and a minimum of three years management experience in business, nursing, or healthcare related field.
  4. Current American Heart Association's Basic Life Support Certification
  5. Expertise in ambulatory physician office practice flow and activities, specialty specific disease processes and conditions; in-office procedures, and patient education.

PREFERRED:

  1. Registered Medical Assistant through the American Registry of Medical Assistants or Medical Assistant certified through American Medical Technologists
  2. Bachelor's degree in healthcare management or sciences, public health or other closely related fields.
  3. Minimum of three years patient care experience as a Medical Assistant in physician practice or other ambulatory care setting.
  4. Implementation and maintenance of an electronic medical record.
