Description
Our Garden Segment is seeking a motivated intern who will work within the Accounting department learning new skills, gaining valuable experiences, and contributing to key projects. This individual will have exposure across the Garden Segment business with projects and tasks assigned that are designed to further develop core competencies, broaden the cross-functional experience, and include presenting a final report out at the end of the internship engagement.
This full-time (40 hours week) summer internship runs from May to August, depending on the college calendar, at our Madison, GA location.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Support the Accounting team in providing timely, accurate and insightful reporting and analysis related to Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Able to learn and prepare supporting information for month-end journal entries
- Deliver support in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Ability to demonstrate to work collaboratively with other team members on special projects
- Skillfully utilize the companys accounting software (SAP) and other ad hoc accounting tools
- Assist with accounting projects as assigned
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- Junior or Senior level student working on a degree in Accounting/Finance or other related degree.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated high proficiency in analytical and critical thinking using facts from data via Excel or other insight models
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and develop relationships across functional groups
- Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects while taking guidance from different project sponsors
- High level of energy and sense of urgency; self-starter; strong and effective multi-tasker
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
