Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
This position requires assisting in managing the pre-construction, design, execution, and close-out of projects according to company objectives and goals. Duties include but are not limited to assisting the project team in engineering management, conceptual estimating, pricing change orders, multi-trade project scheduling, short-term scheduling, booking change orders in the internal cost analysis system, procurement of equipment, RFIs, submittals, managing field labor, field coordination, subcontractor management, material take off and interacting with the General Contractor and Owners project teams to successfully execute construction projects and to support the acquisition of additional work.


DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the project team in managing internal and external engineering teams including multi-trade engineering coordination and shop drawing review.
  • Estimating, budgeting, and written proposals
  • Understand contracts and contractual scope
  • Planning and scheduling including short-term interval scheduling of various crafts
  • Manage material, equipment, tools, information, and subcontractors on each job
  • Material, equipment, and subcontractor procurement
  • Cost control (internal accounting system, change orders, etc)
  • Ensuring quality and performance
  • Assist the project team in communications with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners
  • Assist in managing start-up, commissioning, and owner training
  • Assist the project team in supporting field crews
  • Safety awareness, training, promotion
  • Warranty administration
  • Market and promote the entire company
  • Understand, practice, and promote all company values and operational procedures
  • Mentorship and development of Co-ops


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial engineering or Building Construction or a HS diploma with at least 5 years of construction supervisory experience in the mechanical trades

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements like hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
  • The work environment involves exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.
