Your Job

This role will report to the corporate Fixed Equipment team leader for Georgia-Pacific and work closely with each of the Dixie facilities management teams. The Fixed Equipment leader will be responsible for the execution of the Georgia-Pacific Fixed Equipment (Mechanical Integrity) program to ensure that facilities comply with all company requirements and recommendations, regulatory requirements, and relevant codes, standards, guidelines, and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) from industrial and professional organizations.


Our Team

Georgia-Pacific Continuous Manufacturing Group (CMG) has an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Equipment Leader (Dixie) to manage a group of fixed equipment assets at our six (6) Dixie Manufacturing facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the efforts to build, implement, and manage the requirements of the Georgia-Pacific fixed equipment (mechanical integrity) program for all Dixie facilities.
  • Maintain fixed equipment inspection and repair documentation and other records in an Inspection Data Management System (IDMS) to ensure consistent performance of fixed equipment activities and tasks.
  • Manage and prioritize the facility's fixed equipment efforts based on risk, value, compliance, and business needs.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans, maintenance strategies, and repair procedures to ensure the integrity and reliability of fixed equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a five (5) year plan for all fixed equipment at Dixie facilities.
  • Utilize best practices and standards that need to be implemented to standardize the facility's processes and execution of the fixed equipment program.
  • Maintain metrics to measure the progress of the fixed equipment program and review that progress with facility leaders on a standard cadence.
  • Collaborate/partner with and work with other facility capabilities groups that align with safety, environmental, and business vision.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to operations, maintenance, and capital project teams in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and equipment optimization.
  • Participate in designing and constructing new fixed equipment to ensure maintainability, reliability, and safe operation.
  • Assist the facilities in identifying and applying the correct Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP)
  • Participate in and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts for fixed equipment to identify root causes of complex and/or repetitive problems and implement executable corrective actions.
  • Participate in designing and implementing Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and uptime.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in managing and executing a fixed equipment (mechanical integrity) program or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP)
  • Working knowledge of in-service inspection/repair codes and standards (API 510, API 570, API 653, AWS D1.1, NBIC NB23). Additionally, working knowledge of original codes of construction (ASME B31 Piping, ASME BPVC)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management 29 CFR 1190.119(d)(3)&(j)
  • Familiarity with repair methods associated with fixed equipment
  • Program audit and assessment experience
  • Willing to travel up to 75% across the US


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Certified Authorized Inspector (NBIC)
  • Certified Inspector for pressure vessels under API 510, tank inspections under API 653, and piping inspections under API 570
  • Certified Welding Inspector or API 577 certification
  • Management across multiple facilities or business teams
  • Familiarity with asset health databases or other inspection data management systems
  • Knowledge of failure modes and damage mechanisms common to the pulp and paper industry
  • Project management experience
  • Pulp and Paper industry experience


The salary range for the will role is anticipated to be $130K - $150K.
