Job Description
This position provides leadership, coordination, and management of a multi-million dollar Cox Automotive Value Stream . This role is accountable for the value stream operations, delivery processes, and multiple Release Trains that are responsible for Cox Automotive agile product delivery. These activities include but are not limited to, quarterly planning, coordination of epic backlog creation and roadmapping, removing impediments, mitigating risk, driving continuous improvement, managing dependencies, and reporting progress across the value stream. This role facilitates decisions with executive level teams across Product, Technology, Architecture and Business leadership, creating alignment across all levels of the agile delivery framework. The Release Train Engineers will report into this role, so it is also accountable for the successful delivery of quarterly product and engineering commitments, as well as the performance of the Release Train Engineers.

  • Manage and optimize the flow of delivery through the value stream and into the respective release trains
  • Establish a cadence and facilitate quarterly and epic planning sessions
  • Facilitate value stream prioritization of epics
  • Publish epic plans for visibility and transparency
  • Assist with execution and epic completion tracking
  • Manage value stream progress and provide ongoing visibility to portfolio
  • Facilitate periodic retrospective meetings
  • Assist with priority recommendations by facilitating epic value and tradeoff discussions
  • Resolve/escalate impediments; help manage risks and dependencies across value streams and release trains
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution within the value stream team and stakeholders
  • Encourage team collaboration and influence teams to take positive action and accountability for assigned work
  • Collaborate with other value stream stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Manage, coach, mentor, and motivate direct reports
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Encourage and participate in continuous integration and communities of practice around scaled agile and Lean Engineering and Quality Practices
  • Provide input to development and refinement of the scaled agile framework


Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years' experience in a related field; or 14 years' experience in a related field
  • 7+ years of professional experience, 3+ years managing and leading employees and complex team efforts
  • 2+ years of experience leading SAFe agile teams, or equivalent program and project management experience on large complex technical projects/programs
  • Demonstrated success in managing and leading teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, mentoring and personnel management skills
  • Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, and Access) required


USD 142,100.00 - 236,800.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $142,100.00 - $236,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
