The Georgia Health Policy Center, established in 1995, integrates research, policy, and programs to advance health and well-being. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative findings to connect decision makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. Today the center is at work in more than 220 communities in all 50 states, helping our nation to improve health status. In 2017, the GHPC added a global portfolio, including work in Nigeria, Sudan, Kenya, and Ireland. Collaborate with the CFO of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies and with GSU Human Resources and Payroll.
Invest and grow the financial capacity, knowledge, and skills of GHPC staff.
Build the business acumen of center staff, grounded in strategic competencies to support business growth, stewardship of resources, and accountability.
Foster knowledge sharing and growth within the finance function and across the center.
Lead efforts to identify and implement financial/business operations best practices, procedures, and guidelines, including processes to build administrative costs into proposals.
Create and facilitate training opportunities for project staff on creating and monitoring project budgets.
Mentor staff and steward excellence throughout the center and university
Provide supervision, career development, learning opportunities, and mentoring for direct reports and project teams.
Serve as a liaison among clients, GHPC, and university personnel.
Facilitate meetings and financial related training.
Create a nurturing environment, treat all GHPC staff with respect, and consistently represent GHPC.

Master's degree in accounting, business accounting or finance and five years of experience, or a bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
It is expected that the candidate will have at least five years of experience in finance-related executive leadership roles involving deep knowledge and experience in academic and government settings. Ten years of increasingly more experience in accounting and business development. An understanding of advanced accounting and regulatory issues within academic settings.
