About our team:

The Verizon Business Group (VBG) Design team is a group tasked with evolving the Verizon Business customer experience across all channels and touchpoints through the design and implementation of innovative products and services that business customers love. We design experiences that equip and empower businesses and public sector organizations to better serve their employees, customers, and communities through technology.

What you'll be doing:

As a Senior Manager of Experience Design for Customer Sales for Verizon Business Group, you will lead the design and delivery of digital sales interactions for logged in business customer experiences and digital tools for assisted channels (reps).

Your role is focused on running projects. You will spend your time framing opportunities and defining and aligning cross-functional teams around a design vision that is grounded in user needs. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of projects by identifying key opportunities and setting the strategic design direction. Once the vision is established, you will lead and collaborate with teams to execute and deliver the experience. We are looking for an individual who is not afraid of getting into Figma files and concepting and designing options. You cultivate relationships with product, tech, and business partners, and monitor the health of your projects. You are responsible for project success and the quality of our solutions. You play a critical role in elevating design dialogue and shaping the design process within teams throughout VBG and across the enterprise.

  • Lead activities to identify appropriate customer problems, solutions, and opportunities. Help form or create design briefs to frame exploration.

  • Facilitate and inspire creative concepting and be able to jump in and get your hands dirty.

  • Support planning and facilitation for iteration and critique to improve solution quality and support generating high-level user, business, and technical requirements.

  • Facilitate teams to define product roadmaps, prioritize new features and enhancements, and recommend feature sets for phased product releases.

  • Recommend and facilitate activities/methods to guide teams, partners, and stakeholders through ambiguous project periods.

  • Identify activities and communications necessary to deliver experience strategy ideas to a partner or stakeholder. Build a shared understanding of how the method and tone of communication impact the project.

  • Anticipate the organizational impact of proposed solutions and communicate proposed solutions to stakeholders in business terms.

  • Recognize, track, and communicate issues, accomplishments, milestones, to team and partners.

  • Project confidence that compels people to listen and feel inspired.

  • Model rigor in organization and collaboration.

  • Contribute constructive, thoughtful critique real-time in design reviews.

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings to gather feedback, make decisions, and determine next steps.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in customer-facing digital design management in a leadership capacity.

  • Experience in digital design overall.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Design.

  • Experience building experiences at scale with large complex organizations.

  • Experience designing experiences for B2B customers.

  • Experience defining and driving the vision of experience programs and/or partnership based programs.

  • A track record of gaining the trust and respect of others so as to build and lead world-class teams in transformational and high-growth environments.

  • Experience managing concurrent projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and high-level strategic planning and with tactical daily execution.

  • Experience managing agency relationships.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $127,000.00 and $236,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
