Technical Design Associate - Airbag

Location: LaGrange, GA - Hillside (Valway complex)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Design Associate for Airbags to join our dynamic team. As a member of the team, you will play a crucial role in the data entry of pattern design for our airbag systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and functionality. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, computer proficiency, mechanical aptitude, and excellent communication skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to conceptualize, design, and develop airbag systems for automotive applications.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, primarily AutoCAD, to create detailed technical drawings and models of airbag components and assemblies.
  • Conduct analysis and simulations to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of airbag designs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and manufacturers, to coordinate design modifications and ensure seamless integration of airbag systems.
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to airbag design and safety standards.
  • Will require the ability to sit for 80-90% of the time and be in-person.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of automotive systems and components.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook for data analysis, communication, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with individuals at different levels.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • Associate or Advanced degree
  • Textile weaving experience
  • Automotive industry or related field experience
  • Knowledge of airbag design principles, crash dynamics, and safety regulations is a plus.
