POSITION SUMMARY

The Medicare Cost Report & Reimbursement Senior Analyst will have a pivotal role in Northside Hospital's Government Reimbursement Function. The senior analyst will drive the completion of Medicare Cost Reports and other similar government financial filings, as well as support subsequent audits. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in handling communication with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), Georgia Medicaid / Department of Community Health (DCH), and other government entities and related contractors on matters related to our financial filings, audits, and other reimbursement topics.

The successful candidate should also be able to work as an individual contributor to successfully complete filings and audits in the necessary timeframe with moderate to minimal oversight. This position will require the ability to work autonomously and will also require maintaining a high degree of knowledge on Medicare Cost Report instructions, data inputs, and changes to Medicare and Medicaid regulations related to Reimbursement. Additionally, this position will require familiarity with hospital finance and accounting principles, such as charity and bad debt write-offs.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  1. B.S. Degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field OR have minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in the healthcare industry.
  3. Experience in Cost Report preparation and review.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of government payor reimbursement.
  5. Excellent communications, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  7. Intermediate skill level with Excel.
