Goodwill of North Georgia is one of the fastest growing organizations in the region. We have more than 100 locations across our 45-county territory, and we are one of the largest nonprofits in Metro Atlanta.

Our marketing department is looking for an enthusiastic college junior, senior or recent graduate who wants to put what he or she has learned in class into practice while working on a variety of exciting projects. This is a hybrid opportunity where the intern will work from our Decatur office on Monday-Tuesday and remotely Wednesday-Friday on an 8-hour/day, 40-hour/week period. On remote days, the intern is required to be actively working on day-to-day assignments and projects while remaining available via email and/or phone.

The intern will work alongside a team of professionals with experience in advertising, broadcast journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, and more.

This is a paid internship opportunity. Students will build their resumes with real-world experience, learn and network with experienced professionals and benefit from working for an organization that helps the community.

What you'll be doing:

  • Create engaging organic content for Tik Tok, Instagram and other social channels
  • Utilize social publishing tools for post scheduling
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns
  • Create flyers and other collateral using template and brand elements
  • Assist with photo/video shoots
  • Digitally engage with customers and track sentiment
  • Track engagement sentiment of paid social ads
  • Help organize department forms and documents
  • Help create content for employee app, website, and other channels as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work full-time for the duration of the internship: May 22, 2023-July 21, 2023; 8-hour days and 40-hour weeks on a 9am-5pm schedule (Monday & Tuesday in office; Wednesday-Friday remote, but attendance at events will be required)
  • Must have completed collegiate coursework through sophomore year (rising juniors, seniors, and recent graduates) in advertising, marketing, journalism or a related field
  • Knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts
  • Should be goal-oriented
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Must be self-motivated and have effective presentation skills
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Must be able to solve problems and function independently in a fast-paced work setting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other graphics and/or presentation software
  • Knowledge of social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and other applicable channels
  • Must have reliable mode of transportation
  • The dates of the internship will be May 22, 2023 to July 21, 2023. You must be available to work full-time during this period. 8-hour days and 40-hour weeks on a 9am to 5 pm schedule.

    • Hybrid schedule: Monday-Tuesday (in office); Wednesday-Friday (remote, but attendance at events will be required)

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience using Canva
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Premier Pro, InDesign, etc.)
  • Video/photo editing experience
